Gov. Ron DeSantis Finds Unique Way to Rub Support of Law Enforcement in Liberals Faces

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is no stranger to angering the liberal left. It seems reasonably likely that as a family they sit around looking for ways to completely frustrate and energize the progressive movement against himself, and he seems to be highly skilled at knowing just where to poke and prod for maximum outrage.

One hopes, of course, that the motivation behind DeSantis’s actions is to do the right thing and let the chips fall where they may. That stipulated, it seems unlikely that DeSantis is unhappy with the way his actions affect the left. With that in mind, it’s time to look at the Florida Republican’s latest move:

According to The Daily Wire, DeSantis announced just days ago that his administration was giving $1,000 bonuses to all of Florida’s 174,000 first responders, including law enforcement officers, paramedics, emergency medical technicians (EMTs), and firefighters.

This move comes as Florida has begun to stand out as a beacon of hope to many conservatives, because of its leadership in the governor’s office. In addition to his pointed support for first responders, strong stand against critical race theory, and other types of indoctrination, Desantis has rebuked Democrats for their call to defund the police and stood against the push for ending the current system of incarceration.

The Daily Wire reported that DeSantis’ office said in a statement:

The authorization comes following the Governor’s call for the bonuses in March, with the bonuses included in the 2021-22 state budget. While the budget is not yet signed, the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO) is working to immediately implement this bonus program, expediting the distribution effort. Approximately $208 million has been allocated from DEO for over 174,000 first responders across the state, including 49,405 sworn law enforcement officers, 40,732 EMTs, 35,811 firefighters, and 33,185 paramedics in Florida.

“Supporting our law enforcement and first responders has been a top priority for my administration, and it has never been more important than over the last year. As a state, we are grateful for their continued service to our communities,” DeSantis said. “This one-time bonus is a small token of appreciation, but we can never go far enough to express our gratitude for their selflessness.”

No doubt working against the liberal political machine is nothing short of a full-time job, but DeSantis has shown that it is possible, and Americans will support you for it.

Florida’s success is a reminder to the Americans who believe that the last presidential election was stolen that one of the major weaknesses that liberals have is that they begin to believe their own propaganda.

For instance: the left has been beating conservatives over the head with the message that they’re an antiquated minority and they should just give up because there are not enough conservatives left to matter. However, when the left begins to act on the same premise, they’re quickly reminded that the other half of the nation that does not agree with the ultra-left progressive movement is a group of much more substance than the talking heads would have you believe.

DeSantis is loved because he has had the guts to stand up and do exactly what Americans have wanted for hundreds of years: shrink government overreach, support those who protect and support us, and recognize the rights of citizens. It’s not rocket science, but it is the kind of environment that allowed rocket science to flourish (aka, freedom).

Any liberal that doesn’t appreciate law enforcement, they might do well to swear off using them. That worked so well in the People’s Republic of CHAZ, perhaps another stab at it is just what liberals need. Otherwise, maybe DeSantis has the right idea: don’t bite the hand that fends off the criminals.
