Louisiana Becomes Another Conservative State to Ban Transgender Female Athletes

Being a female athlete in today’s day and age is hard. Not only do you have to pour in hours of hard work, but you also have to compete against biological men. Yes, you read that correctly.

More and more transgender female athletes are choosing to participate in sports. Since they identify as a female, they compete with females. It doesn’t matter that they were born as men and that they have all of the power, endurance, and speed of men. Women are simply supposed to overcome those obstacles because transgender females have had hormone therapy.

It’s not fair – and it’s why more states are taking a stand.

In order to protect female sports, transgender females simply cannot compete.

Some sports are actually creating a completely new category. It allows transgender females to compete – just not against biological females.

In other instances, states are simply putting their foot down to say what isn’t allowed – and Louisiana is the latest state to do so.

What’s interesting about Louisiana is that the governor, John Bel Edwards, is a Democrat.

Is it possible that a Democrat is taking a conservative approach?

Not at all. Instead, this is a move that was done by a Republican-controlled legislature. And they actually got enough support on the bill that it can withstand any attempts at a veto from Bel Edwards.

Edwards accepted the defeat, saying that he would allow it to become law without his signature. He knew that if he attempted to use veto powers, it would still become law.

Edwards has been outspoken about the bill, referring to it as bigoted because young people are already facing discrimination and violence. He says that the bill doesn’t make sense since there is no example of a transgender girl attempting to join or joining a girls’ sports team.

    Just give it time…

I hope we can all get to a point soon where we realize these young people are doing the very best they can to survive.”

What he doesn’t seem to understand is that the bill is there to protect all of the young people who already know what gender they are and are not confused about it.

Biological females can face a significant amount of violence in the locker rooms when biological males start entering – all under the ruse that they have chosen to identify as females.

Louisiana is not alone, so it’s not as if Edwards can claim that the Republican-controlled legislature is changing history. The state joins such ranks as Oklahoma, Arizona, Tennessee, Utah, South Carolina, and others.

The U.S. Department of Justice has already tried to rally for transgender people. In March, the head of the civil rights division wrote to all state attorneys general to let them know that it is illegal to discriminate against people based on gender identity.

It’s not really discrimination, though. It’s a way to protect women and women’s sports.

Transgender athletes can still play sports – just in the gender that they were born in. That’s what makes it fair.

For those who find that to be unacceptable, it might be time to level the playing field. Instead of two teams, there will be four…maybe even five. Or perhaps the Democrats have thought of a few other genders that need to be represented. Should we have six or seven teams? Biological men, biological women, transgender men, transgender women, binary. If we listen to the liberals, the list could go on and on. That’s really the only way to make sure that we play fair while not discriminating…isn’t it?
